Common Name: Jamun / Jambhul, Botanical Name: Syzygium cumini. Jamun tree is tall and evergreen. A fairly fast growing species, it can reach heights of up to 30 m and can live more than 100 years.
The fruits develop by May or June and are oblong, ovoid, shining black berries. The fruit has a combination of sweet, mildly sour and astringent flavour and tends to colour the tongue purple. It is a high source of iron, vitamin A and vitamin C. The seed has medicinal value in Ayurveda to control diabetes. The plant will be packed with utmost care to avoid drying during shipping. However, we can not guarantee the survival of the plant.
